Even at home you had some basic rules:
- Clean up after yourself.
- Take the garbage out.
- Make your bed.
While we won't get that particular, we have developed some Community Codes that benefit everyone. This experience is designed to be fun, but we do need to take certain things into consideration, and these guidelines are designed with our Cast Members' safety in mind. Failure to comply with Community Codes may result in termination from the program.
Below are a few highlights from the Community Codes form. This form will be presented to participants upon check-in on their arrival day to complete.
Visitors
Guests are welcome to visit a participant's apartment complex. However, the participant must sign them in at security and make all visitors aware that GUESTS ARE PROHIBITED FROM THE COMPLEX AFTER 1 A.M. This means that OVERNIGHT GUESTS ARE PROHIBITED. Cast Members from other complexes are considered to be Guests and are subject to the same rules and conditions as others who don't live in one of our complexes. For example, if you live at Vista Way and wish to host a Cast Member from The Commons, you must submit a Visitor Authorization Form PRIOR to the Guest's arrival. That Guest must vacate property by 1 A.M. Violation of guideline will result in termination.
Alcohol & Substance Abuse
The legal drinking age in Florida is 21. Under-age drinking, supplying a minor with alcohol, illegal drugs, kegs of beer and party balls, as well as disruptive or destructive behavior because of excessive consumption are all prohibited and can lead to termination from the program.
Liability
All Cast Members living in our complexes are strongly encouraged to secure renter's insurance. The College Housing Department can point you in the right direction, or check with your parents' homeowner's insurance if applicable.Apartment management assumes no liability in the event of fire, water/flood damage, theft or damage to any belongings of Cast Members who live in our complexes.
Vehicles / Parking
If a participant plans to bring a car, which many students have found to be useful, they must be able to provide proof of ownership:- Current vehicle registration
- Proof of insurance in your name
- U.S. driver's license
Parking decals will be issued to facilitate parking on Walt Disney World® property and within the housing complex.
