How are students admitted into the Disney
College Program?
Students must complete the following steps outlined
here. Please note the steps vary slightly
depending on the type of presentation an applicant attends.
What are the application requirements?
These can
be found here.
I'm still in high school, but have dual enrollment with a
college. Can I apply?
In order to be eligible to apply for the Disney
College Program, applicants must have graduated high school or completed a GED
prior to submitting an application. Applicants must also complete a full
semester of college prior to participating in our program (note that individual
colleges may have additional requirements for participation). Students who have
not yet graduated from high school but have dual enrollment with a college are
not eligible to apply for the Disney College Program until they have graduated
high school and subsequently completed a full semester of college enrollment.
Please note that dual enrollment students who graduate high school in the near
future may be eligible to apply for the
Disney CareerStart
Program.
What type of work authorization do I need?
Participation in this program requires unrestricted work authorization.
I do not live in the United States, but I would like to
work at the Walt Disney World® Resort. What should I do?
Walt Disney World Co. hires candidates living outside the United States for its
Disney International Programs. For more information, please access the official
Disney International Programs Web site at
disneyinternationalprograms.com.
Is there a Summer session?
We have not established
plans for a 2010 summer session for first-time applicants or even program
alumni at this time.
We do not anticipate having a decision on a summer 2010 opportunity until mid-late January 2010.
Will I lose my financial aid if I participate in the
program?
It is up to each student's school to determine how financial
aid is handled if a student chooses to participate in the program. Students
should visit their faculty advisor and consult with the Career Services,
Financial Aid and the Admissions departments to gain information about the
available options. External learning and earning programs can be referred to as
an internship, externship or co-op program, according to the practices of the
individual schools. For more information, students can access the U.S.
Department of Education Web site at
http://studentaid.ed.gov.
Can students apply for a position in animation?

you are interested in pursuing a Disney Animation role, please go to
disneycareers.com.
Positions on the Disney College Program are only located in Walt Disney
World Theme Parks, Water Parks, Hotels and other entertainment areas.
Is Disney College Program participation limited to certain
majors?
All majors are welcome to apply.
When will recruiters be visiting schools?
We visit
various schools each fall and spring, covering colleges and universities all
over the country. In the fall, we recruit for our Spring, Spring Advantage and
Spring Quarter programs only. In the spring, we recruit for our Fall, Fall
Advantage and Fall Quarter programs only. The campus visits consist of a
presentation that provides detailed information about the program.
Students unable to attend a campus presentation or who wish to move forward in the application process immediately should view our streaming E-presentation.
If students miss the presentation at their school, can they
still apply?
Yes. Students may attend a presentation at another
school, or they can view the E-presentation.
The interview process begins with a Web-based interview. Depending on the results of the Web-based interview, an applicant may be asked to complete a telephone interview. Interviews are not conducted on campus except for culinary-specific presentations and also campus presentations held in Puerto Rico.
Can you send me an application? How do I apply?
Students can apply online. Once
students have submitted their applications, they need to attend a
campus presentation or may
view our E-presentation. Following
the presentation, students will be provided a completion code to access the
Web-based interview. Based on their Web-based interview results, they may be
invited to complete a telephone interview.
Should I attach a cover letter and résumé to
my application?
It is not necessary to attach a résumé
to apply for the Disney College Program.
If students are not accepted the first time they interview,
can they try again?
Students can apply and interview only once per
semester. A student is more than welcome to apply and interview 6 months
after their initial interview provided that they still meet the base
application/participation requirements.
Can students come down to the Walt Disney World®
Resort to interview?
Unfortunately, we are unable to conduct walk-in
interviews at the Walt Disney World Casting Center. We encourage
candidates to attend a live
presentation or to view the E-Presentation. After either
presentation, they will be provided a completion code to access the Web-based
interview. Based on their Web-based interview results, they may be invited to
complete a telephone interview.
