As Walt Disney World® Cast Members, participants also have the opportunity to attend training classes, personal and professional-development learning activities and networking sessions with Disney leaders. They can borrow a variety of books, DVDs, CDs and other resources from our Disney Learning Centers. With such a variety of learning opportunities, students can work with their school advisors to create an individualized learning plan that meets school requirements to earn credit for their participation. Students can view them through the Disney University monthly catalog, the Communicator (a monthly newsletter), weekly e-mails, and The HUB portal.

DU: Disney Learning Center Resources

Disney Learning Centers are unique gathering places with 13 locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. Students may utilize a Disney Learning Center to write papers, complete independent study projects or build professional portfolios.

Resources include:

• Videos/DVDs (many have presenter guides and participant materials)
• Magazines

DU: Disney Development Connection

Disney Development Connection is a one-stop, easy-to-use interface on The HUB portal that allows you to view and manage the learning opportunities we offer all Cast Members at the Walt Disney World Resort.

• Self-enroll in selected courses
• Participate in online learning/training
• Track your learning history
• Microsoft Applications

DU: Course Offerings

In addition to the seven Collegiate courses, there are numerous other course offerings, ranging in length from one to four hours per session. These include sessions such as Career Insights, Conversation with, Spotlight On…, and many others. These sessions are offered on a consistent basis throughout the year.
 

DU: My Disney Career Series

Students may participate in the My Disney Career Series, which consists of five targeted career development classes that examine industry trends in topics such as résumé writing, interviewing, business etiquette, networking and personal branding.
 

College Program Alumni Speakers Series

Many former Disney College Program students have returned after graduation to work full-time at the Walt Disney World Resort. Each month, the housing complexes will host a College Program Alumni Speakers Series, in which these former students will host a two-hour panel discussion on their experiences, current roles, and the successes and challenges of their roles at Disney. Panels will feature many areas of our business, such as communications, sales and marketing, and theme park and resort operations
