The Education Experience
In addition to the transferable skills the Disney College Program Cast Members learn in their work areas and the life lessons they gain from living independently in a multicultural environment, participants can learn even more and possibly earn college credit by enrolling in a Disney College Program Education Course. Our instructors are experts in their areas and possess master's or doctorate degrees. The following college-level courses are open to all program participants, and the American Council on Education has approved each for college credit.
The Disney Exploration Series offers students the unique opportunity to learn more about how the Walt Disney World® Resort operates in key areas. Each class is highly interactive and encourages each participant to fully experience all aspects of the 47 square miles of the Walt Disney World Resort as a learning laboratory. Consisting of a series of conversations and presentations facilitated by Disney leaders across the resort, participants get to learn about different experiences and how to apply it in both their personal and professional lives.
Disney College Program participants with certain majors have the opportunity to enroll in an exclusive series of classes that offer unparalleled access to the areas of our company in which these students are studying in school. Professional Development Study courses are available in:
The
Walt Disney Company is committed to offering the tools and resources needed for
Cast Members to learn the personal and professional skills they need to succeed
in fulfilling their goals. There are 13 resource libraries called Disney
Learning Centers that are located at the Walt Disney World Resort,
including one at Vista Way, where many of our College Program Cast Members
live. Each month, Disney leaders host "Career Insights," "Conversations With
" and "Spotlight On
" sessions. These learning activities give Cast
Members the opportunity to listen to Disney executives discuss their own career
paths, learn what hiring leaders look for in candidates for roles in areas such
as Guest Relations and the Disney Reservation Center, and much more.
Disney Learning Centers also offer resources, such as self-paced learning programs, books, audiotapes and CDs. Cast Members also can attend classes that focus on Disney heritage and traditions, computer programs, résumé writing and other career skills, and life skills such as stress management and financial planning.
