Disney College Program History
The Disney College Program made its debut in 1981. In the early days, the Disney College Program consisted of slightly more than 200 students from 30 schools working in our one theme park, the Magic Kingdom® Park. Since its debut, more than 45,000 students have participated representing hundreds of schools, and each of the program components (Living, Learning and Earning) has evolved to create the opportunity of a lifetime!
The Walt Disney World® Resort has grown through the years as well. Today, we have four theme parks, more than 20 resorts, two water parks and the Downtown Disney® Area, which is a dining, entertainment and retail complex. Our growth led to new and exciting learning and earning opportunities for our Disney College Program students.
We have always been proud of the Disney College Program, and today, our program is better than ever!
