- Can
students earn college credit for participating in the program?
It is up to each student's school to determine if credit will be awarded. Each school also determines the number of credit hours to be awarded. Students are directed to see their faculty advisor and/or career services department regarding credit opportunities for participating in the Disney College Program. If a student is not able to get credit from their home institution, there are other available programs in which they may be able to earn credit.
- How do
students get credit from their schools?
Students should speak with their faculty advisors after they receive an offer to attend the program. Credit is awarded in a multitude of ways, including credit for course participation, internship credit, independent-study credit, elective credit or course-for-course transfer credit. We have advised students that selection of courses and participation in programming should be a joint decision between faculty and students, and credit awards will be at the sole discretion of the faculty.
- Do students
need to receive credit from their schools in order to participate?
No, however they must meet any eligibility requirements their school has for participation in this program.
- How can I
formalize a credit acceptance plan for my school?
Colleges and universities nation-wide have a credit acceptance plan for the ACE-recommended courses, and we hope you will accept the ACE credit recommendations as well. Please review the Credit Acceptance Matrix to learn about credit opportunities offered today at colleges and universities like yours. Our Credit Contact Information Survey outlines how your school may award credit to your students for their participation in the Disney College Program. Your students are anxious to have this information readily available to them as they consider participation in this one-of-a-kind living, learning, and earning experience. If your school has not yet completed a survey, please complete the Credit Contact Information Survey and return it via U.S. Mail or fax. Please note that, for your reference, our contact information is located on the top right-hand corner of the document. We look forward to helping you formalize your institution's credit approval process for the Disney College Program!
