Disney International Program Cast Members have the opportunity to experience all of the magic of the Walt Disney World® Resort, as well as learn key transferable skills, network with Disney leaders, and live in a diverse, gated community. But what will you be doing when you are not at work? You could be out exploring a Theme Park, you may be poolside soaking up the Florida sun, or perhaps, you'll be attending a housing event!

The housing team works hard to keep your program exciting by holding several events during each program season. Examples from past seasons include talent shows, semi-formal dances, networking events, movie nights, and even bingo nights where you can win free groceries. Here are a few pictures from these special events held this past year.

Red, Hot, & Blue Winter Formal

The Red, Hot, & Blue Winter Formal took place at the House of Blues Music Hall. The celebration included a House of Blues DJ, buffet with dessert, a performance by the Blues Brothers and several other surprises.

Cool Beans Cafe

Our very own open-mic night at the Vista Way Pavilion! The coffee house atmosphere is complete with hot chocolate and lattes and provides attendees the opportunity to show of their talents (poetry, music, etc).

Night of Stars

Night of Stars, a talent show, allowed Cast Members to showcase their talents such as singing, dancing, instrumental playing and much more. Night of Stars brought out a large audience of Cast Members, friends and family.

Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats: A Country Western Affair

Boots, Chaps and Cowboy Hats: A Country Western Affair took place in the Vista Way Pavilion. Line-dancing lessons were taught and plenty of food was available (chicken, pulled pork, sliced beef, corn on the cob, macaroni and cheese, and baked beans). Many Cast Members entered the costume and dance contests, with hopes to win great Disney giveaways.

Hoopfest

Hoopfest was held at the Vista Way. Cast Members from each complex attended and participated in the event with hopes to take home bragging rights and great prizes.

Many Cast Members joined us to root on their friends and roommates. Audience members were provided sodas, water and popcorn as they watched their favorite teams play.

Luau Pool Party

To kick off our welcome events, we celebrated the spirit of aloha with a luau pool party in Vista Way. Aloha Mickey and Minnie Mouse were on hand to take pictures and meet with Cast Members.

Cast Members who attended had pizza, sodas, chips and cookies. The DJ at the party held a hula hoop contest and the ultimate belly flop competition.

Interactive Cooking Lesson

Housing Manager Sandy hosted an interactive cooking lesson in the Vista Way Pavilion about how to prepare meatballs for spaghetti. Cast Members who attended also personalized chocolate cupcakes and took dinner home for themselves and their roommates.

Mardi Gras

The Vista Way Pavilion was overflowing at this exciting event! Attendees got to enjoy authentic New Orleans desserts, dance to great music and even take pictures with Chip n' Dale and Goofy dressed up in their best Mardi Gras wear!
